” A few months ago, my son began Junior Kindergarten at King Heights Academy. As both a mother and a teacher with the public school board, I had some reservations about sending him to school at the age of three. I was concerned that a typical school setting might not provide the individualized attention and tailored learning experience he needed. As a parent, one always strives to make the best possible choice for their child, and I am confident that enrolling my son at King Heights Academy was the right decision. Since his arrival at the school, I have been consistently impressed with every aspect of his experience. From the outset, the staff has been exceptionally warm and compassionate, ensuring both my son and I feel welcomed each morning. The sense of community at King Heights Academy is palpable, with the staff working in harmony to create an environment that feels more like a close-knit family than an institution. My son’s teacher, in particular, has been nothing short of outstanding. I am continually impressed by her ability to engage the children by incorporating their personal interests into their learning. She skillfully adapts her teaching to meet the diverse needs of her students, providing the necessary accommodations and modifications to ensure each child’s success. Additionally, she maintains open and consistent communication with parents, regularly sharing updates, photos, and insights into the children’s progress. The students at King Heights Academy are equally remarkable—polite, considerate, and kind-hearted. As a mother juggling a baby in one arm and holding my son’s hand with the other, I have been touched by the students’ thoughtfulness. They regularly open doors for me and often offer assistance without hesitation. What stands out most is how the older students interact with my son; they go out of their way to greet him and take the time to get to know him. I will never forget the first day I picked him up, nervously hoping he had a positive experience. As we were leaving the school, several older students called out to say goodbye to him, which brought me an immense sense of relief and reassurance—”He’s going to be just fine here.” I wholeheartedly recommend King Heights Academy to any parent seeking a nurturing, inclusive, and academically enriching environment for their child. “

I wasn’t satisfied with the education my daughters were receiving in the public school system. Given that they are both American and Canadian, it was important for me to find a school that offered a recognized, globally-minded curriculum. That’s when we discovered King Heights Academy, and it has been one of the best decisions we made for their future. King Heights Academy offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, which focuses on the development of the whole child, not just academically but also as an inquirer in the world. Their concept-based curriculum, through the PYP Transdisciplinary Themes of global significance, has allowed my daughters to explore subjects deeply with a focus on inquiry-based learning. This approach has ignited their curiosity and helped them develop skills that go beyond the classroom. The education at King Heights Academy is first-class. The supportive environment has encouraged my daughters to thrive academically, socially, and personally. The school also offers fantastic extracurricular opportunities—how many schools can boast full gyms and access to skating rinks? I highly recommend King Heights Academy. ” If I could give less than 1 stars I would. We live in Maine and sent our son to Kings Heights for his senior year. Prior to us enrolling him, we shared our son’s transcript with the school, they assured us they would have plenty of options for our son for challenging and balanced academic schedule, once he got there we found out a very different story!! The academics are low, their communication and organization is horrible – and they admitted that to us while we were helping our son from afar organize and figure out his classes in September. Then they admitted they did not have a wide range of course options and were disorganized… but did gave us an option for him to do classes online, for more money!! Our son informed us kids were sleeping in class, being disrespectiful, etc.. – all things you would not expect from a private school (or any school). We were given a place for him to stay a week prior to arriving. The home is stayed in was a great family but he did have to travel 45 mins to school each way and pay a hefty toll. There were also costs that we were not told about that came to fruition once we arrived. After trying to work with the school for many weeks, we pulled our son from the school in October because they could not accommodate him and the academics were so low he was better off at our public school in Maine. There are so many more issues I could add to this review. We paid $30,000 for nothing and received NO money back once they admitted they had no classes for our son to take. I would not recommend this school to anyone. “

I have had both my children attend this school from Grade 8 to Grade 12 and I have been continuously impressed with the outstanding academic program, the flexibility of programming to accommodate athletes’ schedules, and the supportive environment. The teachers are professional, the administrative staff extremely helpful and the university guidance has been very helpful. Highly recommend. “
